2022 John Deere XUV835M

2022 John Deere XUV835M – Gator XUV Crossover Series Utility Vehicle has a precise-engineered drivetrain system.

It maximizes engine power and optimizes acceleration, hauling, and climbing capabilities. The engine transmits power through a continuously variable clutch to the transaxle.

2022 John Deere XUV835M Features

Two clutches and a belt drive the variable-speed drive.

  • Attached to the engine is the drive clutch.
  • Attached to the transaxle is a driven clutch.
These features include:
  • The engine braking system uses a tight belt to operate and requires an idler sleeve for neutral. A secondary clutch, a built-on-shaft design, uses a cam to adjust the vehicle’s acceleration and deceleration. The grip remains engaged and provides deceleration of approximately 5 km/h (3mph).
  • Cool air is drawn in by the continuously variable transmission (CVT), air intake to lower heat, and water ingestion. This system improves durability and reduces belt slippage.
  • Two-range transmissions are available:
    • Capability to maneuver in tight spaces, and higher pulling torque at low ranges
    • High ranges offer faster speeds and shorter transport times.
  • Standard full-clutch enclosure comes standard with high-speed fan for longer clutch and belt life.
  • Three cam weights are used in high-torque conditions to maximize belt-clamp load.
Operator Interface Features:
  • Selectable four-wheel drive (4WD) system with a limited-slip differential and dash-mounted electronic rocker switch
    • Excellent traction even in difficult conditions
    • Fast torque to the front wheels when rocker switch engaged
    • Two-wheel drive (2WD) maintains turf-friendly operation
    • Combining rear traction aid (differential lock) with it provides exceptional traction in challenging conditions
  • You can descend hills more easily with 4WD on, as all four wheels slow down the vehicle.
    • To prevent free coasting, clutch engagement is still required.
Features of the transaxle:
  • Transaxle for low, high, neutral, reverse, and park
  • Auto-style, integrated park position for transmission
  • The maximum torque delivered to the wheels is in the low range.
  • Maximum vehicle speed with high range
  • To shift out from the park, press the service brake to release the parking solenoid. A click sound will be heard, which allows the vehicle to shift into the desired gear.
Features of MFWD:
  • The operator can electronically select the option.
    • This vehicle has limited-slip functionality, which allows for precise steering and excellent traction when pointing out corners.
  • Oil drain that is vertically oriented for ease of maintenance
  • Protected with a steel frame and skid plate
Driveshaft Features:
  • The diameter of the rear CV shaft measures 27 mm (1.01 in.). It is optimized for maximum engine and braking torque.
  • The diameter of the front CV shaft is 23 mm (0.91 inches). It is intended for peak engine torque.
  • The prop shaft is designed to maximize engine torque
  • All CV shaft and Propshaft joints can be maintained free of charge and protected by TPE boots for maximum durability.

2022 John Deere XUV835M Power Steering

The Gator XUV Crossover Utility Vehicle comes equipped with power steering, dual-a-arm front suspension, and power steering. These systems are automotive-type and have excellent handling characteristics. They also offer responsive steering and low steering effort.

  • Steel ball bearings ensure smooth, responsive operation of the steering shaft.
  • Rack-and-pinion seal for long-lasting life
  • A low steering ratio (lock to lock) allows for more responsive steering with less operator input.
  • The shaft U-joints can be phased to ensure smooth, uninterrupted movement of the steering wheel.
  • Tilt steering wheel (XUV835M and XUV835R models only; S4 models don’t have tilt steering).
Advanced features are available with the electric power-assist steering system (EPAS).
  • Anti-kickback reduces steering effort when traversing terrain that is difficult.
  • The system uses speed sensing to adjust steering effort when the vehicle’s speed changes.
    • Steering assistance is reduced as you speed up for a better road feel.
    • Steering assist decreases as speed drops to provide better maneuverability and lower steering effort.
  • The instrument panel has a warning/functional light that allows self-diagnostics. It also provides a warning light for situations where there is no assistance.
  • The torque sensor measures the input to the steering wheel so that the onboard computer can give the correct output for different driving conditions.

The EPAS system allows the operator to maintain a direct mechanical linkage between the steering wheel and the front wheels. The power steering interfaces with the steering system mechanically by placing between the steering wheel assembly and the rack-and-pinion.

The power steering assembly includes a differential torque sensor. The power steering assembly also consists of a circuit board assembly.

Although power steering doesn’t reduce the turning radius, it significantly reduces the steering effort by around 85 percent compared to models without power steering.

2022 John Deere XUV835M Engine

An 812 cm 3 (49.6 cu in) power the machine. ) 3-cylinder, dual overhead cams, liquid-cooled, four-cycle gasoline engine. It generates 6.5kgm (47 lb-ft) of torque at 3200 RPM. Advanced electronic controls and fuel injection systems provide excellent starting, idle, and throttle response.

These performance and reliability features are available to the engine:
  • 40.3 kW (54 HP*) at 6000 RPM
  • Electronic fuel injection provides exceptional performance, altitude adjustment and cold-weather start (tested to -28.9degC [-20degF]).
  • Electronic ignition provides reliable, fast starts and .constantly variable engine power.
  • Electronic ground-speed governor and throttle body
  • Auto-compensation provides more power for climbing hills or traversing rugged terrain.
  • Belt wear is eliminated at its highest speed.
  • The overhead-valve design offers greater efficiency and fuel economy.
  • Full-pressure lubrication system
  • Easy servicing is possible with the spin-on oil filter.
  • Remote intake for dry, disposable, single-element air cleaner
  • The coolant recovery tank with a see-through design allows the operator to inspect the coolant level without removing the radiator cap.
  • The open front grille allows for airflow and ventilation to a radiator.
  • Standard high-capacity alternator, 85 amps maximum accessory capacity

2022 John Deere XUV835M Suspensions

A four-wheel independent suspension complements the XUV’s robust frame.

The dual A-arm front and back suspensions provide a smooth ride on rugged terrain and exceptional hauling capabilities.

The suspension system was designed to carry as little cargo as possible without compromising vehicle stability or ride quality.

M-trim units come with factory-installed cabins, while R-trim models have heavy-duty rear and front shocks.

  • The vehicle will not sag if it has a heavy payload and has a higher spring rate or preload force than standard springs.
  • These shocks can support the heavier weight of your cab and attachments such as blades.
DUAL A-ARM INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION FEATURES INCLUDE :
  • 201 mm (7.9 in.) The travel is 201 mm (7.9 in.)
  • Cast-iron knuckles made of heavy-duty, nodular cast iron are designed to support the constant-velocity wheel and shaft.
  • For quiet operation and long life, maintenance-free rubber torsional A-arm pivots
  • Protection of the CV shaft from sticks that could puncture rubber boots
  • Coil-over shocks can absorb the most challenging terrain
Features of the Dual A-arm independent rear suspension include:
  • Superior wheel control and travel can be achieved by using a dual A-arm and lengthening the axles.
  • 231 mm (9.1 in.) 231 mm (9.1 in.) of total travel allows ample wheel travel to keep all four tires on the ground for superior grip, ride quality, and vehicle control.
  • Coil-over shocks can absorb the most challenging terrain.
  • A-arms made of square/rectangular tubing are lighter and more rigid than those made from regular tubing.
  • Cast-iron nodular uprights that support heavy-duty loads are made of heavy-duty nodular cast iron. They have a double row with ball bearings.
  • Protection of the CV driveshaft from sticks that could puncture rubber boots
  • Rear swaybar for lateral stability
